History
34 G6 locomotives were built by the LSWR. All survived until nationalisation, then many were scrapped. 11 were given BR numbers and taken into BR stock. They were built for general shunting duties and continued on these duties through out their life. One regular duty was at Meldon quarry.
The last of the class was DS682 (departmental no, ex BR 30238) withdrawn from Meldon Quarry December 1962.
Kit Details
The G6 body kit contains all the parts to build a G6 body. Main body is etched brass with tab and slot location of parts. As with all our kits, the design of the G6 reduces the number of small parts by providing large parts that fold up. Boiler fittings, chimney, dome, etc are lost wax castings, buffers are turned brass, and the kit includes handrail
knobs and handrail wire.
Body fits a Farish 57XX loco chassis (not inc).
Kit needs chassis, adhesive/solder, paint and transfers to complete.
Options for the G6
28612 G6 body kit. £35.00.
28613 G6 body kit with rolled boiler. £37.50.
